Our Mission

Our mission is to protect and improve access for winter backcountry users in the Pacific Northwest

What We Do

Advocacy

Access to the wild winter landscapes of the Cascades is not guaranteed - it requires dedicated and organized effort to protect. We work with land managers, policymakers, and community partners to advocate for, improve, and develop access opportunities for winter backcountry recreation.

Education

A well-informed community is the most powerful force for protecting winter backcountry access. We inform the backcountry community about access issues and initiatives and provide educational resources to support safe, responsible, and sustainable winter travel.

Community

We believe the backcountry community is strongest when we work together. We connect backcountry skiers, riders, and snowshoers to share knowledge, build relationships, and pursue a shared vision for the future of winter backcountry recreation in Washington.

Cascade Backcountry Alliance is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit.
